Cooper

Well, today is Cooper's day. I am sure you might be wondering what happened to his tooth. Last October, he was riding the John Deere gator with Parker and fell off. He hit the edge of the concrete and cracked his tooth. Neil and I didn't know for a bit because we didn't hear or see him crying. The first I knew was when I saw blood. Neil looked him over, felt his tooth, and knew it was cracked.
This was a Friday night and it was already 8ish. We got in touch with a pediatric dentist and took him on to see him. He told us the very best thing to do was pull the tooth. The other option was putting him to sleep and doing a root canal..... In his opinion, pulling the tooth is what needed to be done. Cooper was put in a straight jacket. This was not easy for his mommy to take. I am so thankful for Neil. He was able to stand right there with him. He held his little feet (because that was all he could get to) while they took care of the tooth! I was a nervous wreck, crying and pacing back and forth. The whole procedure took no more than 5 minutes, and I then grabbed him up and held him TIGHT! Then we were off, and he was fine. We stopped by Arby's and got him a milkshake, and that was that. The tooth can be replaced when he is around 5 or so. I think by then, we will be used to that tooth not being there. That is part of him, and that is fine with me. :)

The picture on top was the day after his accident. The other one, he is sporting his missing tooth!

Poor Cooper! (and poor Heidi!!) Remember, it's always more traumatic for Mommy...

Glad I stumbled on your blog! It's super cute...very "Heidi"!

I could never take Matthew to get his shots b/c it was more traumatic for me than the guys. We was put to sleep for plastic surgery to remove an "angel kiss" when he was one. That was sooo scary; so, I can empathize with you on this!

You're right..not long before they aren't the same any other way! Just like Colby with glasses...he no longer looks like himself without them!

Cooper sounds like another Dawson. If something can happen, it will happen to Dawson. Its the second born! God gives us a false sense of hope with the first child so that we have more than one. It just adds to the excitement of life!
