I think I am only one of a very few who doesn't call him Bud. Daddy gave him this nickname when he was little, and he has been called "Bud" ever since. At his wedding last July, Rev. Rick asked Mama if he could refer to him as "Bud". He did, and we all smiled because Daddy would have been so proud. Patrick and I look alike and have some of the same personality traits too.
He has always been kinda quiet (We are definitely not Burkhalter's in that respect) and to himself. I can honestly say I never remember a time we haven't gotten along. We have just had that kind of relationship. Never remember a cross word between us. He has always been so supportive. My baby brother gave me away at my wedding.
Mama was not happy when she had her second baby girl. She had always wanted a boy, and really wanted to leave me at the hospital. You can imagine how thrilled she was when she had him. It makes me so happy every time I think of him being Patrick Haden Burkhalter, Jr. He gave the most touching speech at Daddy's graveside service. He ended by saying how proud he was to be Pat, Jr.
Christy's precious mother-in-law passed away on Friday, so Mama and I went to Atlanta Sunday morning to be with them. We got a chance to go and see Patrick and Natalee's new house. It is absolutely beautiful. Natalee was out with some friends, so we missed seeing her. We hope to go back soon and spend time with them. We really miss going to Atlanta since Christy and her family moved to Va.

You are right!! You and Patrick do look a lot alike. Sorry to hear about Wes' mom. Daddy still thinks the world of Patrick!! :~)
It is amazing the how so many of us are connected. Many of my most favorite memories of high school include times with the friends, one of the being Bud. And yes, it took me a while to call him that. Through high school, Bud, and Missi, I met you. Thank you Lord for the circle of friendships...one always come back around to find them as life goes on...
I can't believe it....he looks like a man!! :) I can't tell you the last time I saw him...glad he is doing well with his new family!
Ol' Bud. I think I was pregnant with Thomas the last time he was home and I got to see him. He's a mess. Love him!
